Black people are dying. We've been dying. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣

I consider myself to have quite a bit of privilege, but I'm not so ignorant to think that will save me. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

I know someone can decide my existence is threatening through no fault of my own.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I know if I go to the hospital, I am statistically at risk for being ignored or insufficiently treated because of myths that black folks (specifically black women) have a higher tolerance for pain and a tendency to hyperbolize. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

I know at any moment someone can decide they are my judge jury and executioner.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ Consider this when you are fixing your lips to say what Ahmaud Arbery could or should have done. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

It feels like as soon as they realized Black and Brown folks were dying at higher rates from COVID-19 they stopped caring and started opening things back up. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

Consider this when you go on your group rides and hang out at the park, and whine about your loss of freedom. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

I don't want myself or my loved ones or anyone else to become a #BlackLivesMatter hashtag.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I'm tired of black death, I will NOT watch that video and I don't need to. I am angry, and sad, and scared.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣
