Is this for me?

This retreat is designed for cyclists who want a genuine riding experience. It is not a race, not a tour. If you can comfortably complete 35–70 miles in a day and enjoy exploring new places by bike, you'll fit right in.

A Group is for riders comfortable averaging 15–17 mph over 40–70 mile days, riding in a group, and handling rolling terrain.

B Group is for riders who prefer a more relaxed pace — 13–15 mph, 35–45 miles per day. E-road bikes are welcome in the B group.

(Note: EU e-bike speed limits cap pedal assist at 15.5 mph, lower than the US limit of 28 mph.)

FAQs

Do I need to speak Spanish?

1

Not at all. English is widely spoken in the cycling community around Girona, and we'll handle most of the logistics for you.

Is this trip solo-friendly?

2

Absolutely. Many of our riders come solo. Although if you can talk a friend into sharing a room it will save you both some money, even if they’re not coming to ride!

What if I get sick or injured?

3

We have SAG support throughout each ride day. We also require that you purchase travel insurance. Ayesha can attest, it’s a great investment if you’re having a bad day abroad!

Can I rent a bike?

4

Yes. We recommend Tossa Cycling. They deliver and pick up from the hotel and offer early-booking discounts.

What's the cancellation policy?

5

All riders are eligible for a 25% refund until 14-days before the start of the retreat. Add-ons can be fully refunded up-to 14-days before start of retreat. If you’re sharing a room, one person cancelling automatically changes the cost of the remaining person to the solo rider rate. Balance must be paid 30 days before the start of the retreat."

I'm not a competitive cyclist. Is this right for me?

6

Yes. The A group is for stronger, faster riders, but it is not a competition. The B group is designed for riders who want beautiful roads and good company at a more moderate pace. Take the “Which group is right for me?” quiz for help seeing where you’ll fit best.
